The Soil Institute™ began on March 28th, 2025, with a single conviction:
the world doesn’t need more top-down charity it needs bottom-up restoration.
We exist to reconnect people with the things that truly sustain life:
food, water, shelter, health, and truth.
Founded by Yousef A. BinAgeil in Tulsa, Oklahoma, The Soil Institute™ is a nonprofit innovation hub that designs and builds sustainable systems not programs that communities own and operate.
We partner with local leaders to create real, lasting infrastructure:
community grocery models, clean water access points, modular shelters, mobile wellness hubs, and regenerative farmer networks.
Our work creates local ecosystems and circular economies that keep resources flowing within the community not out of it. Everything we build is rooted in shared stewardship, created with, for, and alongside the people it serves.
While The Soil Institute™ helps establish the framework to ensure long-term sustainability, communities co-design, co-operate, and lead each initiative as trusted partners.

We’re not building a nonprofit to exist for generations.
We’re building systems that will.

We measure success by what we can hand over not what we hold onto.
So here’s our promise:
By 2030, after 5-years The Soil Institute™ will evolve into The Green Hand Foundation™,
where the communities we’ve served will own 51% of the systems we built together.
Not in failure — but in fulfillment.
By then, the roots will be deep.
The systems will be living.
And the people will be leading.
We’ll remain as partners, innovators, and guardians
but the power will belong to the people.
Because true change doesn’t require a forever institution.
It requires one generation bold enough to say:
