For the Next Seven Generations: A Shared Indigenous Vision
In many Indigenous cultures, decisions are rooted in one sacred truth:
What we do today must serve the next seven generations.
This is more than wisdom — it’s a responsibility.5 Nations. 5 Years. 1 Future.
At The Soil Institute, this truth is our compass.
Our 5-Year Mission is not about sustaining a nonprofit forever.
It’s about building systems that outlive us — systems that meet humanity’s core needs and nourish future generations we’ll never meet.
What is the Seven Generations Principle?
The Seven Generations Principle is a sacred Indigenous teaching — especially among the Haudenosaunee — that calls us to act today in service of those who will live 140+ years from now.
It means:
Thinking long-term
Honoring ancestors
Protecting life yet to come
It’s about community, justice, and responsibility — all wrapped in love.
This aligns perfectly with our mission to solve, not manage, humanity’s most urgent needs.
5 Nations. 5 Years. 1 Future.
A Unifying Mission Begins in Oklahoma
Across Native communities, the wisdom of generations has always taught us:
What we do today must nourish those who come long after us.
Now, a new chapter begins — one rooted in unity, legacy, and healing.
We are calling on the Five Tribes of Oklahoma — Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), and Seminole — to come together as the first circle in a bold, time-bound movement:
Five Nations.
Five Initiatives.
Five Years.
This is more than a campaign — it’s a living legacy to protect the five core human needs that every community deserves:
Food
Water
Shelter
Healing
Belonging
The Soil Institute’s 5-Year Mission will build replicable systems to meet these needs — designed to be community-led, culturally grounded, and globally impactful.

Five Tribes. Five Initiatives. Five Years.
We’re launching five flagship initiatives to meet humanity’s five core needs — rooted in tradition, powered by innovation, and designed to last for generations:
7 Generations Impact.
Food Community grocery & farm systems Food sovereignty. No broken supply chains.
Water Clean, local water infrastructure Preserves access to clean water for all.
Shelter Sustainable, dignified housing Climate-resilient, future-ready communities.
Healing Wellness and mental health systems Intergenerational healing and resilience.
Belonging The Fifth Element™ A cultural force to unify and uplift humanity.
These aren’t temporary programs — they are living blueprints meant to:
Be fully community-led by Year 5
Begin global replication by Year 7
Thrive independently after we close our doors
This isn’t charity — it’s legacy.
And no one knows how to carry a legacy like Indigenous Peoples do.
Five Nations. Five Initiatives. Five Stewards.
Each of the Five Tribes of Oklahoma will be invited to steward one of the five core initiatives — serving not as owners, but as guardians of the mission’s values, purpose, and long-term protection.
This model honors Indigenous governance and wisdom — built not around control, but care.
Each Nation will:
Help shape the design of one initiative
Guide its cultural relevance and long-term vision
Safeguard its principles for future generations
Support intertribal collaboration for ongoing unity
This is a circle of trust — where each Nation carries a torch for humanity’s most vital needs, knowing that when the five stand together, no system can fail.
Across Native communities, the wisdom of generations has always taught us:
What we do today must nourish those who come long after us.
Now, a new chapter is calling — one that invites the Five Tribes of Oklahoma to come together in unity, strength, and purpose to help lead the world toward a more just and regenerative future.
Five Nations. Five Initiatives. Five Years.
This is not just a campaign.
It’s a movement rooted in ancestral knowledge, built on Indigenous values, and designed to address the five core human needs that every community deserves:
Food. Water. Shelter. Healing. Belonging.
The Soil Institute’s 5-Year Mission will plant the systems to meet these needs — not as charity, but as legacy.
And we believe the Five Tribes of Oklahoma — Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), and Seminole — are uniquely positioned to help steward this vision forward.
Not alone — but as the first circle.
A circle that will grow to include Native Nations across this land, and eventually, communities and nations around the world.
Uniting the Five Nations: A Vision to Lead Forward
A Circle That Welcomes All Nations
This is not a spotlight on THE five —
it’s a spark for all nations.
Every Indigenous nation, every community, every citizen who believes in protecting life for the next seven generations is invited to take part.
This page is a vision — a call to gather, to dream, and to lead something historic from the ground up.
Whether you’re from the plains, the forests, the desert, or the coast —
this is your future too.
When the Tribes unite around a shared mission, they can help shift the course of systems — not only for themselves, but for all people.
For the Earth. For the future.
A Call to Citizens
This is your invitation to speak up, organize, and carry this vision into your communities.
To your councils. To your leaders. To your youth.
Let them know:
A rare window is open — and the time to build something enduring is now.
This begins with you — the people.
If this vision speaks to your heart, bring it forward:
Share it with your community
Present it at tribal meetings
Speak with your elders, your youth, your leaders
Let your voice rise in unity
A Message for Leaders
To the elected Chiefs, Councils, and Nation Builders:
We come with deep respect.
Not to ask for power, but to build partnership.
Not to take control, but to plant legacy.
We invite you to the table — to shape something that will serve not just our communities, but the generations to come.
Together, we can lead the world by example.
Because this mission is not about one organization.
It’s about many nations standing as one.
